Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championships

Nova Scotia's Wheelchair Curling team made its first appearance at the 2008 Canadian Championship. Team Nova Scotia joined seven other teams from across Canada in the fifth installment of National Championship.

Although they did not medal Team Nova Scotia did the province very proud with a 3 - 4 record. A highlight for Team Nova Scotia was its first win. The win came in draw 2 against the 2007 Canadian Champions, BC. NS was one of only two teams who defeated the BC rink, who went on to repeat as the 2008 Canadian Champions.

The Nova Scotia team was composed of skip Mike Fitzgerald, third Laughie Rutt, second John Rogers, lead Nicole Durand, and alternate Linda Scott. The team was coached by Glen McClare and Doug Peck.

Three other Bluenosers were part of Team Atlantic, who went 1 - 6 at the Nationals.

Nova Scotia and the Lakeshore Curling Club are proud to host the 2009 Wheelchair
